Chicago: School Teacher Abuses Two Children
Former Hancock County school teacher abuses two children and gets a 50-year sentence. 48-year-old Pedro Ibarra has been convicted of engaging in multiple sexual activities with two children, a child under 13 and a child under 15.
Through online chats with the first victim, Ibarra had the child participate in sexually explicit conduct. All of which was recorded on his cell phone. The next day he picked the same young boy up, went to a local hotel, and engaged in more sexually explicit activities, again recording on his phone.
During the investigation, more videos and recordings revealed a second victim, this time under 15 years old. All the while he was preying on these children, he was an active school teacher at a Chicago Public School.
According to Zachary A. Myers, United States Attorney for the Southern District of Indiana.
“The heinous sexual abuse of these children is every parent’s nightmare. These tragic crimes reiterate that those who seek to sexually exploit our children online and in person are often the people parents and children should be able to trust.” Justice.Gov goes on to say, “The significant sentence imposed today shows that federal, state, and local law enforcement will work together tirelessly to identify child sexual predators and send them to prison where they belong.”
OUR TAKE:
We continue to be horrified by these crimes committed against innocent children by those within the school system. As Myers says above, these are people that are near and dear to the school families. These teachers seek to win their trust and insert themselves into their prey’s everyday life. They use their positions to abuse these innocent students. But, one should not be surprised when the government school system is corrupt at the root. Once again, flee the public schools!
